More honors for Luke

A record-setting season was capped with one more honor as Western Illinois sophomore center Ashley Luke was named team MVP at a luncheon ceremony held at Sports Corner @124 on Monday.
Luke was presented the award by her coach, JD Gravina and the award sponsors.
Luke led the team in scoring and rebounds and was also named Summit League Player of the Week four times during the season.
She was WIU’s first Summit League First Team All-Conference member since Zane Teilane earned the honor eight years ago.
Luke was also named Academic All-American, a first for the program, a Capital One Academic All-District by CoSIDA.
Luke was also the second-leading scorer in the Summit League this season and led the league in rebounds and double-doubles.
She also set the program record for free-throws made in a season.
